IT Program Manager

Sunrise Greetings, a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Inc., is seeking an IT Program Manager to ensure the successful delivery of project solutions to the business.  The IT Program Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, evaluating, and directing project activities to ensure a complete business solution is implemented.  The employee will interact with other IT areas and business leaders to ensure that projects are meeting established time, cost, and technical objectives.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities include: Strategic Project Leadership Planning Maintain a strong understanding of supported business processes. Firm knowledge of project management and software development methodologies, and the ability to apply those in building accurate and detailed project plans. Forecasting and managing the project budget. Resourcing Responsible for the day-to-day management of activities and projects assigned to the Business Analysts, Oracle Technical Developers, EDI Analyst, and onsite contractors, and ability to accurately match project tasks and assigned resources. Manage ongoing EDI Analyst and onsite contractor operational, development, and maintenance responsibilities. Monitoring Manage the project budget and provides timely updates on project status. Create and maintain contingency and risk mitigation plans, and ensures that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with planned functionality. Integrating Maintain understanding of architecture and standards, and applies those to all projects. Knowledgeable of other impacted projects and systems. Proactively manage communications on a consistent basis. Develop and Maintain IT Partnerships Build and maintain IT's relationship with the business by understanding the critical business processes and managing the maintenance of the associated documentation. Act as a liaison between the business and other IT areas by coordinating assignments and priorities. Responsible for software life cycle stages of analysis, high level design, testing planning, user acceptance testing, and user documentation and training. Ensure that IT provides acceptable levels of service and solutions that meet the technology needs of the business. People Management Provide team direction and oversee work distribution. Encourage learning opportunities among staff.

Skills / experience required: Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science required, PMP certification preferred. Formal Project Management (PMI preferrably) training strongly desired. 3-5 years management experience required, both project and general, in an IT leadership role. Familiarity with Oracle software life cycle methodology or a similar methodology process. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to successfully coordinate and implement small and large projects with multiple groups of people in a timely manner. Solid administrative and organizational skills, strong attention to detail. Ability to estimate hardware and software costs of large and small projects.
