Description
Perform a wide range of integrated, risk-based, financial, operational or IT reviews, with a focus on IT controls. Responsibilities include assessing IT, business and control risk, evaluating business/IT processes for effectiveness and efficiency, and developing value-added solutions.
Accountabilities and Specific Duties:
Assist in performing control design assessment and testing of compliance in world-wide audits, reviews and special projects:
* Obtain understanding and document policies, procedures and business processes using flow charts, walk-throughs and narratives.
* Assess, formulate and document control design and effectiveness issues and opportunities.
* Perform root cause analysis, identify solutions and develop plans to address control issues.
* Coordinate the preparation and execution of management corrective action plans.
* Participate in meetings with audit customers to confirm results.
* Assist in drafting audit issues and report information.
* Travel 25-40% domestic and international, as required.
Position Complexity:
* Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with timelines provided.
* Monitor and communicate work status with audit teams and across audit projects.
* Understand and keep current on all IT auditing standards, automated audit techniques, EDP/MIS best practices and Company policies and procedures.
* Adapt to foreign environments and cultures. Decision and Judgements:
* Identify business process activities, control points and control activities.
* Understand differences in automated and manual controls and ability to test compliance.
* Recognize and research control issues and identify appropriate solutions.
* Identify and investigate potential misappropriations and irregularities with all levels of management.
* Apply and interpret policies and procedures and recommend areas of improvement.
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: (within Reader's Digest) All levels of management and direct reports External: RDA Clients and vendors and External Auditors Required Skills
* Knowledge of necessary professional standards (e.g., IIA, ISACA)
* Knowledge of sound IT practices and internal controls
* Knowledge of computers, computer oriented systems, security
* Knowledge of mainframes, LANs, WANs.
* Strong knowledge of IT general and application controls
* Spoken and written proficiency in English

* Bachelors Degree, Computer Science, MIS or related field required
* CISA, CPA, CIA, MBA CFE, CISSP or foreign language desired
* Two plus years experience in internal/public auditing, IT focus.
* Experience in performing tests of integrated internal controls or auditing through systems.
* Experience with ACL or other automated data analytic tools.
* Experience in performing integrated auditing, COBIT internal control framework, GTAG framework and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
