Graphic Designer - DC Direct
DC Comics seeks a Graphic Designer - DC Direct for the DC Design department. Position assists Art Director in the mechanical production and creation of packaging, collateral material and promotional items for the DC Direct product line. Primary designer for the DC Direct section of the monthly solicitation catalogue. Produces electronic mechanicals that conform to DC standards and to show final appearance of printed product. Provides back up support for design team in scanning original art for reproduction and digital photography. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
College/Design School degree or related work experience required. Minimum of one year prior experience in the design field or equivalent freelance assignments. Knowledge of contemporary design trends and conceptual sketching required. Product packaging design and production experience preferred. MacIntosh computer experience with desktop publishing and graphics software (Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop) required. Basic knowledge of digital camera and product photography preferred. Familiarity with contemporary comics, and DC characters preferred. Good understanding and use of the language of the design field.
