Graphic Design Artist

J & L Printing currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Graphic Design Artist to become part of its production team.

 

Accountabilities:

 

• Applies knowledge of layout and design principles to create graphics that convey appropriate client requirements

• Collaborates with client to provide creative concepts and execution of print products

• Must be able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Works with sales and clients to determine most effective and economical materials and processing for each project

• Reviews and approves all proofs for color correction and accuracy

• Maintains and organizes all file archives in an orderly fashion

• Remains knowledgeable of trends in print industry

 

Requirements:

 

• Minimum 2-3 years experience working in a creative publishing environment and exhibiting strong conceptionalization ability, creative thinking and problem solving skills

• Extensive knowledge of Macintosh and PC computers and applications including: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkExpress and other desktop publishing applications including MS Office Suite

• Ability to convert customer files to printable format

• Advanced knowledge of pre-press production

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with sales, clients and production personnel

• Proof of application of creative thought through the presentation of an eye-catching design portfolio
