The New Jersey District Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the district sales effort and territory marketing plans for six curriculum sales representatives (3 elementary and 3 secondary) covering the entire state. . The position manages the objectives for the District through the efforts of PreK-12 Representatives and Consultants, to assure revenue goals are met, that the sales and consultant staff is supported, and that the highest quality customer service is provided. The DM will assist in developing and administering sales staff including recruiting, selecting, training, supervising and evaluating sales representatives. The district manager provides direction and input in developing campaigns. They are directly responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of campaign strategies and revising when necessary. The district manager is a problem solver spending significant portion of their time recruiting, managing, supporting, training, and evaluating the field sales staff. To accomplish this, he/she must spend considerable time in the field with the sales force and have direct responsibility for calling on supervisors in key accounts. 1. 3-5 successful years sales/consulting experience in educational publishing2. Previous sales management experience in the educational publishing industry preferred.3. Teaching Experience preferredFormal education or equivalent: College degree required, preferably in Education.Skills: ' Ability to train, hire, motivate, mentor and lead sales organization' Previous success as a strategic sales thinker and an outstanding communicator with a record of executing sales plans' Flexible and adaptable approach to a changing organization ' Strong communication skills, both in writing and presentation' Ability to achieve and motivate others to achieve established sales objects' High learning curve when it comes to gaining knowledge of new and existing product lines across grade levels' Computer literacy with MS Office Products ' Ability to adapt to use an application of new technology ' Ability to maintain good public relations Other: Heavy travel required-At least 50%
