Database Process Engineer

Job Summary:   Analyze, transform and load data into a hosted litigation database. With limited supervision, use data analysis, data manipulation and programming skills to overcome complicated issues surrounding data consolidation and loading. Manage problem submissions/exports in concert with customer service team.  Export data out of the hosted system in requested delivery format.  Handle technical support issues surrounding both input and output data.  Proactively communicate and report status information about ongoing projects to stakeholders.  Develop and document technical processes and procedures for continuous improvement.  Mentor and train less experienced staff on process, procedure and technical knowledge. Essential Functions:   Use industry and internal application knowledge to transform and load disparate data into end user application Investigate and analyze output of production systems using SQL and scripting tools to track down and isolate problems, and then implement solutions Develop queries and scripts to proactively identify database issues, regularly scanning production data for anomalies while minimizing disruption of resources Build and improve tools to efficiently automate data analysis and manipulation tasks Meet ad-hoc requests for clients Accountable for achieving billing goals and accurately tracking time Proactive reporting and communication Management of concurrent projects and tasks Quality review of work performed by themselves and other operations staff  Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: Â· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, statistics, business or equivalent experience· Experience in litigation support databases preferably in a hosted environment· Experience with Concordance, Summation and other legal review databases· 2+ years with Perl, Linux/Unix, Python, Ruby · Significant experience working with SQL databases, understands the fundementals of database design, data matching, integration, processing· Project Management experience strongly preferred· Critical thinker, strong commitment to quality, solid communication and interpersonal skills· Familiarity with the Legal market a plus
