Customer Relations Representative

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who is committed to delivering quality service and dedicated to cultivating customer relationships. Working with a team of customer relations colleagues, the representative we are seeking will draw upon other experts of the extended team for technical expertise of various disciplines, develop responses and capture feedback.
Create response letters and e-mail to readers' inquiries. Categorize correspondence and code for response within the department or route to outside departments.
* Respond to incoming telephone inquiries.
* Perform research and interact as customer liaison with editorial and technical staff in preparation for handling more complex telephone and written inquiries.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of a cumulative index of articles appearing in Consumers Union publications. Update response files.
* Maintain a database of all telephone calls and letters received, and generate summary reports.
* When necessary, perform other assigned duties.
* Perform computer-related work.
Minimum four year college degree. One to three years' customer-service experience is helpful. Must have strong writing skills and proven ability to compose clear and concise letters and e-mail. Requires the ability to organize and prioritize work assignments independently. Must possess a professional telephone manner, positive attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Solid experience in word processing and Windows environment needed. Knowledge of spreadsheets and databases preferred.
