Working in partnership with the global science and health communities, Elsevier's 7,000 employees in over 70 offices worldwide publish more than 2,000 journals and 1,900 new books per year, in addition to offering a suite of innovative electronic products, such as ScienceDirect, MD Consult, Scopus, bibliographic databases, and online reference works.Responsibilities We are currently seeking an Editor to manage, develop, and grow a specified list of Continuity publications (YearBooks, Seminars, Advances, and Clinics), which appear both in print and online. Other responsibilities include: -Manage with autonomy the day-to-day activities relating to the publication of a Continuity portfolio, including managing contractual relationships and increasing profitability. -Monitor performance of each publication series in comparison to competitive or comparable periodicals. -Provide succinct information that the marketing department can use to promote the specific strengths of each series. -Ensure timely publication of issues within page, color, and permission budgets. -Develop topics, plan issues, and recruit Guest Editors for Clinics series. -Handle administrative tasks associated with assigned project. -Attend specialty meetings to analyze market trends and maintain a secure contact with consulting editors, guest editors, and authors. -Obtain signed contracts and transmit complete manuscripts in a timely manner.Qualifications Candidate should have a Bachelor?s degree and 2-3 years experience in publishing medical journals/periodical/books as well as hands-on development experience. Candidate must have a strategic vision, excellent people skills, and organization skills.
