Senior Web Developer

 

Job Summary:

The Senior Web Developer will play a key role as Regis seeks to broaden the use of web technologies throughout the organization.  We are looking for a creative, detailed, organized, and self-motivated individual to help deliver this suite of solutions for our business partners.  The ideal candidate will provide leadership and direction to a web development team and possess good critical thinking skills.

 

Responsibilities:Analyzing and recommending technical solutions to meet business, functional and high-level technical requirementsMentoring and coaching peers, colleagues and less experienced web developersAssisting in the creation and reviewing detailed project estimates and work plans.Determining programming approach, tools, and techniques to best meet business requirements.Programming of complex code requiring subject matter expertise or workload balance.Ensuring code reviews are conducted and quality standards are achieved for changes, enhancements, standards compliance and systems interoperabilityManaging process/complex problem resolution and recommending best practices for production—level code support, troubleshooting and maintenance.Assist with the design of appropriate application securityAssist in the development of database design and data managementResponsible for application performance and tuning



Skills:Hands-on experience designing & developing high-performance, Java-based web applicationsExperience with J2EE-based application serversPortal development experience with WebSphere or other industry leadersJ2EE technologies (2-3 years): JSP, Java Servlets, JDBC, EJBExperience leveraging content management solutions in site development (Stellent a plus)Experience building and consuming web services and stored proceduresExperience in developing high-performing, highly-available applications, with practice in using performance-analysis tools to measure, verify, and revisit where necessaryWeb application design (including Model/View/Controller)  with JSF and PortletsIn-depth understanding of related languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)In-depth understanding of relevant protocols (HTTP(S), DNS, etc.)



Requirements:Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, or MIS5+ years experience in web application development and design3+ years Portal experience
