Business Analyst - Financial Applications

BUSINESS ANALYST – Financial Applications

 

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst is responsible for providing expert application knowledge and assistance to the Finance staff.  The primary application supported by the Business Analyst is JDE World, which is augmented by numerous other custom and package software solutions. The Business Analyst provides a wide range of support functions to the Finance teams and is a liaison between these teams and the IT developers. 

 

Responsibilities:

· Support business objectives by working with customers to identify business issues and develop innovative ideas for solutions. 

· Facilitate meetings with customers to gather process requirements and create new process flows and detailed specifications for custom and/or generic system requirements.

· Advise customers regarding feasibility of desired deliverables.  Define and document requirements.

· Analyze existing systems and databases.  Recommend process and/or program changes to solve identified business needs.

· Apply working knowledge of application, in conjunction with query tools, to assist with business needs.

· Assist with conceptual design, functional design, and technical design.  Document impact on departmental operations.

· Work with developers on all aspects of application development and maintenance, including analysis, design, development of time estimates, testing, and implementation.

· Define and test system functionality, including interfaces, in preparation for implementations and conversions across multiple functional business applications.

· Perform all aspects of system and customer acceptance testing.

· Ensure timely delivery of system corrections, enhancements, and new functionality.

· Develop, maintain, and analyze key metrics that ensure data integrity.

· Develop and maintain effective relationships with business community.

 

Requirements:

· BS or BA degree preferred

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to multi-task on a wide variety of projects and tasks

· 3+ years JDE World experience 

· 3+ years query experience

· Familiarity with AS400 (or iSeries or System i) platform
