Position Summary

 This position is full-time, exempt. The Database Administrator provides systems administration of Tessitura and Portland Center Stage database applications and servers, supports application development, data mining, advanced reporting; provides level I and level II support to end users, data administration functions, and IT as necessary. This position works closely with the IT Director and interacts closely with all departments in the organization, as well as, business partners and vendors. The Database Administrator must maintain a high-level understanding of industry standards and process methodologies. As an IT professional, the staff is a team player and works within the scope of Portland Center Stage IT best practices philosophies with the ability to make sound recommendations with supporting information.

  Essential Responsibilities ·        Administers and maintains Tessitura, MS SQL Server and all Portland Center Stage database applications

·        Provides systems analysis and solutions for application and database development.

·        Performs capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, backup/recovery and problem determination and resolution.

·        Determines structural and storage requirements of databases through systems analysis and design to ensure the efficiency

·        Ensures database security by establishing data access and modification rights of the users through the utilities provided within the database systems.

·        Ensures data protection and backup.

·        Helps establish operating standards, and procedures.

·        Helps determine strategies for accessing the databases via programs, on-line query languages, report generators, or other access technologies to ensure consistency and efficiency.

·        Receive support escalations from IT and staff with data administration and list management functions in other departments.

·        Provides advanced reporting and data mining support.

·        Provides user support as necessary.

·        Supports conversions and data integration functions.

·        Works with specialists, contractors, vendors and business partners as necessary.

·        Works closely with the IT Director in implementing and supporting projects, and provide project management at various levels.

·        Contributes to the IT technology planning and Internet strategy.

·        Maintains a high level of customer service and quality support throughout the organization.

·        Interacts with all functions of the organization to provide solutions to business challenges; recommend improvements to business processes and technology that will improve efficiency and standardize business operations.

·        Responsibilities include keeping abreast of industry developments.

·        Research, recommend, and help design new procedures, methods, and technologies as they become available.

·        Provides backup duties for systems administration, user support, and Record’s Coordinator functions as necessary.

·        Performs other duties as indicated by Director of IT & R.
