Discover why Serco is one of the world's leading service companies.DescriptionSupervises the daily activities of warehouse personnel in various activities such as processing, shipping, receiving, and staging inventory, and the like in response to workload demands or staffing shortages. Supervisors are the first line of supervision. This position ensures the department meets all objectives established by management, including safety objectives. Trains and works directly with line employees, assigning schedules and coordination with other supervisors to achieve maximum efficiency and production. * Ensures plant operations are in compliance with Statement of Work, quality objectives and policies, plans and objectives. * Assign production personnel as required to each processing functions. * Coordinates with next shift supervisors. * Ensure flow of Mail Transport Equipment (MTE) to other departments is continuous. * Verify that all MTE is identified correctly by type, quantity, and lot number. * Assist with personnel issues (disciplinary actions, promotions, evaluations, and interviews). * Review safety procedures will all employees. * Check that all equipment is in good operating condition. * Provide training and training documents in response to USPS or site process changes. * Perform other duties as assigned.Required SkillsFamiliar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.Required ExperienceExcellent supervisory skills in the areas of written and verbal communication. * Ability to successfully lead, motivate and direct a large group of employees. * Basic PC skills. * Basic process flow skills. * Union experience.Requires 5 years total experience in a production environment, must possess knowledge of OSHA regulations sufficient to comply with applicable requirements. Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline preferred.
