Vice President - Merchandising

As a result of this growth at Quill, we have experienced exceptional internal career growth and are looking to expand our team of dedicated and talented professionals as we drive growth and add Brands to the Quill Portfolio. At Quill, we strive to be a truly great company, one that people are proud to work for, offering an inclusive environment where each member of our diverse and talented team can develop and make a difference. We are currently searching for a Vice President - Merchandising for our Headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL. This executive position, a member of the Senior Leadership Team of Quill, is the primary owner and driver of the strategic direction in developing and executing strategies and plans to drive profitable revenue growth. This individual is responsible to set strategic course and to lead his/her team to direct the development and execution of comprehensive, measurable, strategic merchandising plans that meet and align with the goals and objectives of the Quill line of business.• Ultimate responsibility for the business strategy across all product categories. Applying high level strategic thinking, product expertise, competitive intelligence to develop, execute and continually refine Quill’s merchandising strategy. • Directly responsible and accountable for sales, net margin, vendor program revenue, budgeting and overall profitability for all product categories. • Direct teams of management and professionals in the drive for sales, net margin and profitability by: identifying and driving key product opportunities; developing compelling promotions targeting new and current customers; and leveraging product mix on-line and through creative pricing strategies. • Apply high level strategic thinking, merchandising expertise, competitive intelligence and broad knowledge of small to mid-size business customer to develop and execute product category strategies that align with Quill sales and marketing goals to acquire, grow and retain a profitable customer. • Aggressively drive and direct significant, profitable, growth initiatives through new, creative and focused category and business solution expansion opportunities. Partner with senior leadership team to drive these initiatives; direct and lead Merchandise team in actionable support of these initiatives. • Inspire, lead and drive thought and action to merchandising on the Web with the objective to increase share of wallet and product penetration across all categories. • Drive solid, productive, interactive partnership with all Sales teams that lead to critical successes in product sales. Lead team in the sales education; creating and cultivating effective and profitable customer contacts. Qualifications: Related Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.10+ year’s progressive experience in direct marketing organization. A proven leader in strategy creation and demonstrated impact on growing revenue. Strong leader with a customer centric focus who is an experienced, leading-edge, on-line merchant. An analytical thinker who can build, teach, and lead the diverse merchandising team.A deep understanding and proven results orientation on-line, in combination with direct marketing and B2B experience leading teams in executing strategy to support traditional product lines and new initiatives.Strong quantitative, analytical and strategic thinking skills. Ability to understand the complex yet drive simplicity across the organization.
