Job Title:Vice President, General Management – Energy Trading and Risk ManagementJob Summary:As a Vice President, General Management you will use your background in Client Management, delivery and sales to support a client portfolio of $20+MM in annual revenue. You will assume the role of trusted advisor to the client and will create a compelling vision and strategy that will inspire both the client and Sapient project teams. The Vice President, General Management will bring extensive experience and expertise in selling and delivering compelling solutions for Energy and Utilities firms and business units. Additionally, you will provide thought leadership on a variety of topics including strategy, trends and best practices. This person will understand and run the day-to-day functions of the client focus area against targets and metrics, including revenue, profitability, and compliance with corporate policy and procedures. The Director should be able to play a hands-on role in managing teams and projects to ensure delivery success.The Vice President will work with other local executive leadership to coach and mentor other Sapient employees to become the next generation of leaders.Primary Responsibilities: Vision and Strategy Development - Create a compelling vision and strategy for a client - must be able to then clearly communicate and inspire people within their responsibility with the vision and strategy Relationship Management – Establish and manage long-lasting relationships with prospects and clients. Must be comfortable dealing with senior level business and technology executives in both sales and delivery contexts. Delivery Leadership – Lead project teams to shape, propose and implement the most appropriate solutions for our clients. Monitor progress of active projects and proactively identify any potential risks and implement mitigation steps. Operational Leadership - Understand and run the day-to-day functions of the client/BU/focus area against targets and metrics, including revenue, profitability, and compliance with corporate policy and procedures People Leadership - Build, manage, develop and motivate a group of people that achieve exceptional team performance and individual growth Financial Acumen - Understanding of financial statements and the levers within our business Participate in making key investment and operational decisions regarding the operations and structure of the business Business Development - Execute on the components of the Sapient Sales Process by opening & identifying, shaping & responding, closing, negotiating, expanding, and managing senior relationships. Live, support and espouse our core values Experience Guidelines: Extensive Energy Trading and Risk Management expertise 10+ yrs consulting experience with at least 5 years of managing large client accounts ($10+MM) and managing to a revenue/profit target Proven experience of growing both revenue and profitability while maintaining the highest standards of delivery excellence Experience in managing teams of 20+ people Proven ability to sell and penetrate new markets / clients Successful delivery of projects with 20+ people and over $2MM in revenue Ability to understand, communicate, and manage across the entire project lifecycle Broad knowledge of technology trends and relevance to clients business Ability to apply technology in an appropriate way to meet business requirements Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree desirable Frequent overnight and occasional overseas travel is required About SapientSapient, a global services firm, helps clients compete, evolve and grow in an increasingly complex marketplace.
