Job Responsibilities: Performs and advises others on the analysis, design, testing, documentation, implementation/configuration and support of data networking technologies. Develop network architecture and perform detailed engineering reviews of design and deployment plans. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for data center global affiliate network infrastructure as required. Conduct data network analysis and baselines using industry standard tools and methods. Excellent written, spoken, and presentation communications skills. Participates as the primary technical contact or lead of a work group or project team in resolving complex issues and implementing infrastructure in support of business information systems. Usually given general objectives and works with a high degree of independence under severe business-related deadlines.Minimum Qualifications: 6 years networking & have valid & current CCNP, CCDP certifications, or equivalent experience. Must have experience that includes network design, technical engineering, operational support and hands-on implementation and configuration of network devices such as advance firewalls, routers, switches, IPSEC/SSL VPN technology, network analyzers (sniffers), network monitoring tools and cabling in an enterprise LAN/WAN environment.Preferred Qualifications: 8 Years within networking field & have valid & current CCNP, CCDP certifications. Must have experience that includes network design, technical engineering, operational support and hands-on implementation and configuration of network devices such as advance firewalls, routers, switches, IPSEC/SSL VPN technology, network analyzers (sniffers), network monitoring tools and cabling in an enterprise LAN/WAN environment.Additional Information: Proven experience designing, configuring, implementing and troubleshooting Layer 2 and 3 protocols including Quality of Service (QoS) in a Cisco environment. Industry-standard interior and exterior routing protocols: RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc. Industry-standard network management protocols and applications, i.e., SNMP, CiscoWorks, NetScout, etc. Experience designing, implementing, configuring and troubleshooting large-scale IP networks. Experience designing, configure, implementing, and troubleshooting large, switched local area networks. Strong TCP/IP and multi-protocol network experience with analysis of network traces, including Sniffer/Ethereal/Etherpeek, Cisco network analysis tools. Includes WAN/LAN analysis of Alcon applications using tools such as Compuware NetworkVantage & ApplicationVantage. Helpful to also have experience interfacing IP & VoIP networks with circuit switched telephony networks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to develop and execute multiple priorities and approaches to meet objectives. Understanding of complex environments with some degree of technology specialization in Tivoli, Spectrum, CiscoWorks, Microsoft Active Directory, and Group Policies. Good verbal and written skills for communicating with clients and documenting work.
