In this key leadership role, you will develop, support, and implement the global digital marketing strategy for SAS' main external Web presence of www.sas.com and related strategic digital activities, such as E-Mail Marketing, Search Engine Marketing and Web site optimization. You will build collaborative relationships with global marketing departments to help them maximize the effective use of these digital channels for SAS; and you will directly manage and supervise the digital marketing staff in achieving defined goals and objectives. Included in your duties will be
* Leading the team in defining the strategy and implementation of a new global Web Content Management System for sas.com and the resulting opportunities for taking our Web presence to the next level of Web engagement - including content globalization, lead nurturing, mobile experience, social media, personalization and much more.
* Driving the evolution of our E-Mail Marketing strategy and processes while supporting global campaign execution.
* Managing and supporting Americas Marketing campaigns in the areas of email campaigns, landing pages, search engine marketing, social media, event-sites and other related digital assets.
* Collaborating with and supporting global digital teams and departments to confirm goals, requirements and priorities for improving SAS's external digital marketing channels (Web, e-mail, search, social media, etc.)
* Leading project managers in working with the IT division in documenting and communicating business goals, requirements, and priorities that will drive infrastructure improvements for the digital marketing channels - including Web CMS, e-mail marketing, lead capture and Global Marketing System integration, etc.
* Leading a team in developing and executing a metrics based approach to drive Web site improvements, priorities and campaign optimization.
* Identifying and communicating current digital marketing best practices and emerging trends.
* Establishing and prioritizing department responsibilities/objectives and ensuring that projects are completed on time and according to established procedures.
* Determining resource needs for equipment and staffing, which includes recruiting and hiring, setting/communicating standards, providing feedback, budgeting and fostering professional growth.
* Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, computer science, or other related field.
* 5 years of experience in marketing, business partner relationship development, or a technical function within the technology industry, including related products and services.
* Experience in management and/or leadership.
* Experience in digital marketing communications, campaigns, etc.
* Experience leading global projects, initiatives, or strategies.
* Direct experience leading digital marketing activities in the B2B technology sector.
Additional:
* Solid understanding of digital marketing, such as Web, e-mail marketing, search marketing, and/or on-line advertising
* Solid understanding of on-line metrics and analysis.
* Solid foundation in general marketing techniques.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, which includes skills in public speaking.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, together with the ability to execute, build, and foster strategic relationships with varied audiences.
* Ability to travel at least 10-percent of the time.
Preferences
* Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in digital marketing.
* Experience with commercial Web content management systems.
* Experience with Web site usability best practices.
* Experience with information architecture and Web site optimization.
* Experience working with digital marketing services companies.
* Fundamental understanding of Natural, Paid, and Site search optimization.
* Knowledge of Google Analytics, SAS CXA, or other analytics platform.
