Territory Sales Manager

Job Description:The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Territory Sales Manager in our Grand Rapids, MI office.Position Overview: Responsible for interacting with independent insurance agents that represent the Citizens/Hanover Insurance products. Responsible for appointing new agent partners and to aggressively grow our business through them. Responsibilities: Ensure that Citizens/Hanover Insurance products are being effectively marketed and sold per quota through interface with our independent agencies. Results driven to steer the business development process throughout the agency network. Work with agencies to develop business plans for the State of Michigan. Ensure that quotas are understood and that proper metrics are in place for agents to write and promote business that is consistent with the territory business plans and the state strategy. Prospect, meet agency appointment targets, and plan each day to maximize outcomes. Track producer performance, portfolio mix and profitability trends. Identify high potential and at risk agents & make necessary recommendations to Regional Vice President. Gather competitive intelligence and stay abreast of laws and regulations. Provide Agent and CSR training as needed. Manage a PL budget(aggregate loss ratio of all agents within assigned territory.Requirements: Must have a solid track record of proactive selling and excellent agency interactions. Know the current business and economic conditions, industry trends, competition and territory specific issues. Strong business acumen. Pocess a strong sales focus and strong marketing perspective. Strong presentation skills both written and oral and ability to make effective standup presentations.
