Technical Support Specialist - Temecula, CA
PlantCML’s Technical Support Specialists (technical support help desk) are primarily responsible for: * Providing technical representatives with telephone/remote assistance concerning the operation, installation, maintenance and service of PlantCML products. * Assisting with the troubleshooting of complex technical issues with field/repair technicians * Keeping the field/repair technicians up-to-date with hardware and software revisions. * Work with PlantCML’s distribution channels to replace defective hardware and/or perform service related efforts. * Evaluate failures by contacting customers and gathering information, recording all incoming calls and updating the technical support database. * A TSS may occasionally travel to a customer site to install, trouble shoot or repair PlantCML products or for start-up, cut-over and check-out activities on newly installed systems. This position is scheduled for different shifts between the hours 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additionally there is a requirement for moderate rotating after hours emergency services (on-call), carrying a pager to be available on a 24-hour basis. Candidate must be able to work the required hours for the position. The ideal candidate will have experience with direct customer contact, including technical support experience and the following capabilities: * Read schematics and wiring diagrams. * Define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions from a variety of concrete variables. * Perform troubleshooting at the system and network level. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have one or more of the following certifications and expertise in the following areas: * MCP * MCSA (will be a requirement after six months of employment) * MCSE * CCNA * Expertise in Microsoft operating systems and networks. Candidates with experience in telephony and telecommunications standards and regulations, and knowledge of 911 systems, networks and peripheral equipment, will be given first consideration. Candidates who do not possess an AS degree in Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, Microsoft certifications or equivalent combination of education and experience and the above-referenced capabilities will not be considered.
