Technical Support Specialist - NOC/Help Desk

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician I position is responsible for the monitoring, troubleshooting, support and reporting of the Corporate Information Systems. Initiates, updates, tracks and closes trouble tickets through the internal work order system. Follows established NOC policies and procedures. Works to develop and implement network management tools and processes to improve the NOC capabilities, and to ensure quality service and support is provided. Identifies procedural errors and takes them back to the source or management. Works to ensure that procedures and processes are clear and will be followed going forward. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, proactive monitoring of systems, job schedule review and processing, backup media cataloging, report generation and other duties as assigned. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide proactive monitoring of all production systems. 2. Provide first level troubleshooting and support services for client desktop PC's, Servers, Network Devices and Applications. 3. Provide correct routing and escalation when situations require. 4. Provide and Manage secure access to vendors and Chico's associates relating to production systems. 5. Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills – can prioritize workload in a fast paced environment. 6. Catalog and tracking of backup media. 7. Generate and distribute business and technology reports 8. Communicate status of issues with responsible parties and NOC Management in writing and verbally. 9. Contribute to a positive and cohesive team. 10. Ensure proper transition during shift changes. Minimum 3 years computer service experience in a fast paced business environment. 2. 2 years experience working with industry-standard network monitoring tools (IP Monitor, Microsoft MOM, HP OpenView). 3. 2 years experience of phone-based support in technical Help Desk environment. 4. 2 years experience with industry-standard incident tracking tools (Track-It, Remedy, Peregrine, etc). 5. 2 years experience working with a searchable knowledge base for issue resolution (Talisma, K4IT, etc.) 6. 2 years experience supporting proprietary business applications in a Help Desk environment. 7. 1 year experience with industry-standard back-up media (Veritas, etc) 8. Working Knowledge of Microsoft Business Applications (Outlook/Exchange, Office) 9. Strong customer service and communications skills (verbal and written). 10. Certifications (A+, Network+, MCP) (preferred). 11. Ability to work in both team environments and as an individual contributor. 12. Basic network topology and connectivity understanding. 13. Attention to detail.
