Technical Support Analyst - Unix Administrator
Job Description:Job Description: Responsibilities include providing first and second level technical support for the OpenVMS and Unix Systems. Technical support to our client community, incident management, escalation and incident documentation, writing and updating of standards and operating procedures, assisting the programming staff, quality assurance group and development group, the execution of daily batch jobs, and performing backups / restores as needed, and the preparation of various management reports. Job Experience:Business Skills: * 5+ years experience in Information Technology Management with a strong financial services background. * Experience in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight timelines. * Knowledge of VMS and UNIX operating systems. * Command of DCL and UNIX shells. * Demonstrated strategic problem solving skills. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills. * Team player who works well with technical and business resources. * Coordinate efforts within project teams as well as across other system and business areas. * Take strategic direction from executive management and take initiative. * Experience with ITIL model is desired. The job holder supervises production support activities for all major systems and related subsystems to ensure the integrity of computer generated data, regardless of platform. This may include a liaison with vendors for code running on their systems. S/he provides application recovery, technical support and helps to develop and enforce data center standards. She coordinates activities with the computer operations department and user departments and directs application change management functions.Years of Experience Required: More than 5 years
