Tax Accountant - Sales and Use

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of sales and use tax compliance experience, preferably with a large multi-state corporation. Alternatively, the candidate may have similar experience in a professional services firm or governmental entity. Minimum education includes a four year degree in accounting. Job Description This position is responsible for compliance activities including the timely and accurate filing sales and use tax returns. Other responsibilities include: Research on sales and use tax issuesMaintenance of tax calendarResearch and resolution of sales/use tax notices received from taxing jurisdictions.Issuance and retention of tax exempt certificates.Assistance with other tax department special projectsAssistance with audits conducted by taxing authoritiesMaintenance of changes to sales and use tax laws affecting the company Desired Skills & ExperienceExcellent oral and written communication skills Strong organizational skillsProficiency in spreadsheet applications.
