•Location:    Denham Springs, LA 70706•Job Status:    Full Time, Employee•Job Category:    Customer Support/Client Care•Career Level::    Experienced (Non-Manager)TRANSIT SHIFT SUPERVISOR Job Description:SCHEDULE: Full-Time M-F 6:00PM-2:00AMJOB FUNCTION: Second Shift Transit Supervisor manages the shift from 6:00PM-2:00AM. This Supervisor oversees and co-ordinates 2nd Shift Transit operations of the Check Processing Department. This covers the supervision of the complete processing of customer deposits received from all Capital One customers and affiliates. Maintains contact with equipment manufacturer representatives. Monitors float availability of funds to ensure proper credit for items processed. Assist other departments and institutions in problem resolution. Monitors preparation of all transit items processed. Monitors daily production of all statement processing (average 250,000 items per day) to ensure all deadlines are met DOLLAR IMPACT: $100 million in prime pass capture averaging 250,000 items a day. SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Recommends promotions, termination, and salary adjustments for subordinates to Manager. Interviews new job applicants for employment. Train, counsel and discipline subordinates on job performance. Completes performance appraisals and grants merit increases when applicable for subordinates on the anniversary dates for the non exempt employees or at the beginning of each year for exempts. REGULAR DUTIES: Responsible for processing of prime pass items averaging 250,000 items per day. Directly responsible for staffing, oversight and quality control in the completion of periodic holiday processing. Monitor and control work flow to accomplish completion of departmental objectives. Responds to inquires from employees regarding their work environment and job responsibilities. Accelerates large dollar items to enhance availability. This is accomplished through a special ''Big Money Hotline'' used exclusively for large dollar items. Report any problems creating a delay to daily processing to Check Processing Manager. Interfaces with Account Services and Statement managers to discuss problems and implement necessary changes. Directly responsible for staffing, oversight and quality control in the completion of periodic holiday processing in addition to end of month statement, ARP and Serial Sort processing. Responsible for distribution of production reports to upper management. Projects assigned by Check Processing manager. Completes departmental quarterly audit. Compiles data and prepares reports required for departmental statistical reporting. Works closely with Transit Manager to monitor training of new employees. Makes decisions concerning extended training etc. Track and maintain production statistics on subordinates to ensure production standards are met. Monitors operational functions to ensure all departmental deadlines are met in a timely manner. Adjusting procedures as necessary. Completes department staff report for Check Processing Manager explaining overtime or other out of the ordinary occurrences. Verifies and approves employee time sheets, forwarding them to personnel department for handling. Prepare variance report for Transit manager explaining fully all operating expenses outside of plan. Files absence report with personnel department. Completes departmental audit to ensure that all personnel are in compliance.Job Experience:BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or GED• 2 Years of Banking Experience • 2 Years of Supervisory Experience • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • 4 Year College Degree in a Business Related FieldNo agencies please.
