DESCRIPTION
Layout, construct and repair a variety of tools, dies, fixtures and gauges to close tolerances. Very good knowledge of shop mathematics and geometric tolerancing and dimensioning required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Very good knowledge of shop mathematics. Very good knowledge of blueprint reading, including geometric tolerancing and dimensioning. Layout, construct and repair a variety of tools, dies, fixtures and gauges to close tolerances. Involved in developmental work on tools and designs. Skilled fitting of parts and difficult tool room machine operations required. Very good knowledge of all tool measuring methods and equipment. Skilled at working to very close tolerances. Responsible for meeting time deadlines set by supervisor. Ensure work area is clean and tidy at all times. Capable of training less skilled toolmakers.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS and/ or EXPERIENCE
At least 36 months experience in a busy toolmaking shop, working to very close tolerances. Some design skills preferred.

KNOWELEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must understand the importance of deadlines in a production environment.
Must have a good education in mathematics.
