DescriptionThe Sr. Unix Admin will provide complex technical services for the computing infrastructure to ensure technical health and security of Hewlett Packard (HP) HP-UX enterprise computing environment server administration. Responsibilities include HP-UX admin/server support, server builds, implementation, configuration, maintenance, change management disciplines, performance, and testing in an enterprise environment. Responsibilities also include EMC Clariion admin and zoning of LUNs, providing backup, Windows administration assistance to primary Windows administrator, Ensuring a stable operating environment and maximum utilization of system facilities.Required Skills
Must have 8+ years of hands-on HP-UX, Solaris and Linux administration experience in a medium to large company, with good knowledge of UNIX environments Experience using Maestro & other scheduling tools Experience with HP Openview Basic knowledge of networking, TCP, UDP, RPC etc. Extensive NIS and NFS knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Shell and Perl scripting knowledge and skills are required (other programming background helpful ) Backup hardware and software technologies and hand-on experience is a plus Knowledge and familiarity with integration of Unix systems with Microsoft Active Directory will be a definite plus. Knowledge of Sun/HP hardware platforms, SAN technologies (IBM/EMC), Brocade Switches, StorageTek backup libraries. Servers, VMware ESX server, DNS, SMTP, FTP, SSH. Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with external clients and internal team members. Excellent ability to handle significant workload with experience in managing multiple projects concurrently in a matrix process environment. Proven ability to multi-task, work in fast-paced environment and prioritize.
