Our growing company is currently seeking a Sr. Network Engineer for our Omaha, NE location.

 

 

Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities:

Support of enterprise technologies (VOIP, Security, Routing, Layer 3 switching) in complex networking environments. Ability to manage medium size projects, develop documentation, and testing processes a must. Good written and communication skills.  Level 3 support for complex enterprise break/fix.

 

Typical Qualifications:

Education:  Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Experience Target:  Five to eight years related experience.

 

Skills:  Good written and verbal communication skills. 

 

Knowledge/Abilities:  Knowledge includes support and troubleshooting routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and redistribution of these protocols.  Layer 3 switching including ip multicast.  Practical understanding of VOIP and troubleshooting experience over Frame Relay and ATM.  Ability to understand and support security  (firewall, VPN, IDS) application in a networking environment.  Ability to install, administer and troubleshoot layer 3 switching (6500, 2950, 4500), frame relay and ATM wide area technologies.  Understanding and troubleshooting VPNs, Firewalls (PIX, Checkpoint).  Level 3 support for enterprise break/fix.  Mentor engineers in technology and processes.  Able to attend meetings with Management and clients and contribute suggestions, develop enterprise infrastructure designs, and answers in a professional manner



 

Special Certifications: CCIE or CCNP with equivalent experience, with proven specialization in either voice or security or equivalent experience.  CCDA or CCDP.



 

Travel Required: 15% domestic travel.

 

Other: Ability to work different shifts and extended hours.  Ability to lift 40lbs. overhead. Have a valid driver’s license.
