Position Title
Hardware Development Engineer
Position Overview
Development of electrical hardware for GPS products and systems; specific responsibilities include requirements definition, functional allocation to hardware and software requirements, device and systems design, system integration, validation, verification and documentation. Embedded software experience and networking is required. GPS experience a plus.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
- Specialized in designing low power, single board computers, ARM 7 & ARM 9
- Some micro computer experience Texas Instruments MSP430 series
- Secure Memory architecture and circuit design
- PC104 card and Systems level.
- SALVO programming, Pumpkin Inc. or equivalent RTOS
- Encryption implementation
- Knowledge of MIL-461A
- Minimum 10 years Orcad experience
- Analog and Digital layout
RF, grounds and constant impedance lines/pairs
- Previous product development experience taking electrical hardware products from the lab to the marketplace.
- Previous experience with GPS/Antennas/Data Links a plus
- Design and debug digital and analog circuits.
- Knowledge of embedded and PC/Workstation software including operating systems, BIOS and applications.
- Skilled at using hardware design software applications (circuit design, board layout, etc).
- Analyze requirements, develop verification cases and test procedures, perform system testing and prepare test reports.
- Work to support all phases of the product life cycle from concept through final delivery to customer support.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and quality guidelines.
- Initiative in proposing new tools and/or techniques to achieve continual improvement in engineering processes.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented design environment.
Qualifications Required
- 10 years experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (BSEE, BSCE) or equivalent
- Some travel may be required
