POSITION SUMMARY
We have an immediate opening for a Senior Acquisition Specialist to support a very large program with the Coast Guard that is vital to our country's safety and security.The Deepwater program is a $24 billion endeavor to modernize and increase the assets of the Coast Guard to allow them to better support their increased responsibilities post 9/11. The Senior Acquisition Specialist requires an experienced professional who can lead large, complex acquisitions in a highly-visible role.This person shall have the primary responsibility for managing and supervising all Contractor personnel assigned to the performance of work. Senior Acquisition Specialists shall provide senior level support and assistance in coordination and oversight of acquisition projects as designated in specific task order(s).
PRIMARY DUTIES
Preparation and review of RFP and RFQ. Monitor contract compliance. Determine applicability and prepare determinations and findings.Preparation of standing operating procedures.Prepare or Review contract modifications. Conduct fact finding and market research. Assist with the interpreting of Public Law. Respond to Congressional Inquiries. Prepare or review responses to FOIA requests.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED; two year degree preferred. At least 24 semester hours among accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management required. DAWA II or III Certification or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE: At least eight (8) years in GS-1102 Series as Contract Specialist or Officer.
