Job SummaryThe Senior Specialist for Platform is regarded as the Subject Matter Expert internally and externally for their expertise in designing and architecturing large, complex solutions. The S. Sr. Specialist drives and/or codes the most complex pieces of a solution in their area of expertise. As the Subject Matter Expert, the Senior Specialist calls upon her/his vast experience and knowledge to support, educate, and collaboratively work with Sapient' s delivery teams. The Senior Specialist delivers his/her consistently high-grade work in the agreed-upon timeframe, in a very unstructured, ambiguous environment. Frequent domestic overnight and international travel is required.Key Responsibilities: Accountable for the development process on a track of the project which involves more than 1 person; Reviews designs or codes (for quality, reuse, efficiency) for the team; Educates others on the development process; Defines, negotiates, and manages Service Level Agreements across multiple projects based on client requirements and internal constraints; Outlines implications of Service Level Agreements on effort estimates and structures the engagement model to facilitate Service Level Agreement compliance; Assigns roles and responsibilities and secures buy-in of all Tier 2 stake holders; Acts as reference for deploying architectures on the platform; Advises internal and external clients on proper application design and development on the platform; Leads in defining Sapient's ongoing investment in capabilities in the platform; Builds relationships with leading vendors in the marketplace; Monitors the space and articulates changes and opportunities to Sapient, and; Participates in or closely monitors the development of new standards (e.g., JCP, ANSI, IEEE, vendor relationships).Job Requirements:Education: BA/BS degree Experience: 8 - 10 years experience; Participation in several Designs or Implementations; Hands-on experience in 2 of the following: J2EE, Microsoft.NET, horizontal or vertical packages; Strong communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills; High degree of organization and ability to prioritize effectively in an unstructured or ambiguous environment; Ability to work independently (without significant oversight); Prior experience initiating and maintaining positive, trusting, credible relationships internally and externally; Leadership ability - ability to mentor, educate, delegate, and manage others; Business acumen, Extensive knowledge of marketplace, industry and area of expertise.About Sapient:Sapient, a global services firm, helps clients compete, evolve and grow in an increasingly complex marketplace.
