Description:

The successful candidate will join a small, highly skilled Internal Development team to test Microsoft-based ecommerce web sites. The QA Engineer is to create and implement full QA lifecycle project test plans.  Projects include both internal and external Web sites and Web services. Responsibilities include testing the functional enhancements of existing systems and many new systems to support business needs. The Software QA Engineer will develop, implement and document all testing activities. He/she will be very proficient with Web technology, Microsoft Visual Studio Team System and have some SQL Server database skills. This position combines the fast pace and excitement of a small company with the solid processes of a larger corporation. It makes for a challenging, enjoyable working environment. The QA Engineer is an essential team member who ensures that superior quality and consistent standards are maintained when Web Associates deliver a product. You will have constant interaction with our Business Development, Marketing and Contract Administration Teams.

Responsibilities:Write easy-to-understand test case steps and expected result descriptions.Develop and execute thorough automated test plans in a timely and efficient manner. Critically think about how consumers will interact with the software being tested and turn those thoughts into finding bugs, listing action items, and opening avenues of discussion. Develop, execute and maintain automated and manual test scriptsWrite and execute SQL queries to interpret test results and create test data that is used to determine adherence to release criteria.Work closely with management and developers to ensure functional requirements are met Document and track quality assurance plans, tests, issues, test summaries and findings as well as bug resolutions.Implement comprehensive regression testing program Work closely with Project Management throughout the product release process



Skills:3 years of QA testing with knowledge of software development life cycle principles and test methodologies 3+ years of experience in Software Development, QA, and hands-on testing experience. Genuine enjoyment of software QA work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with CSS and CSS-based websites. Desire to be part of a highly productive, fast-paced team. Organized and detail-oriented personality with strong problem solving skills.Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET, ASP, Visual Studio Team System and SQL Server 2000Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines A self starter who constantly looks for areas of improvement





Education:

· 4 year technical degree or at least 3 years equivalent experience.

· Bachelors degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent experience

· Knowledge of Web-based technologies, e-commerce, Web site development and testing

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and industry standard Web browsers

· Experience with automated testing, load testing or CM tools

· Software QA certifications a plus
