Software Development Manager, Fact Extraction The Fact Extraction team is looking for a development manager to lead the extraction of structured fact information to help Amazon provide customers with the most authoritative catalog in the world. The position demands innovation and energy leading a team of developers pursuing authoritative content to enlighten Amazon customers. Experience with information retrieval, computational linguistics, and java is a plus. As a small organization, the position demands excellent technical skills and knowledge coupled with strong leadership, planning, and management abilities. Key Responsibilities: Defining product roadmap and annual plan for team Work closely with the architects to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development Management of departmental resources, staffing, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus. Strong business and technical vision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to inspire and motivate people Experience working in a small startup, or venture-funded company highly desirable 5-10 years experience in Software development and 2-5 years as development Manager or Director managing teams of at least 8-10 engineers. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
