If you are an IT professional looking for exciting, new opportunities, look to Ajilon Consulting!We have an immediate opening for Senior Web DeveloperResponsibilities Performs design, coding and testing on complicated revisions to Web Portal applications, and creates efficient and maintainable new applications using Java, J2EE, JSR-168 and XML. Utilizes databases that support access by Web-based clients, including Oracle, DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server. Extensive coding using J2EE technologies, including servlets, JSPs, Java Server Faces, EJBs, JNDI and JDBC. Expertise with WebSphere Portal design and development required. Additionally, utilizes HTML, DHTML, JavaScript and CSS to create or enhance the functionality of the WebSphere Portal based web sites. Confers with clients to identify requirements (e.g., data, information needs, processing, specific output, functional and development of test data), and determines their desired outcomes in order to formulate the design of the system and/or offer alternative solutions in a timely manner. Provides technical guidance to less experienced staff during implementation. Mentors new or junior staff members on business knowledge, system peculiarities, and complex technical issues. Analyzes, designs, and documents information to create the applicable statement of work and the associated deliverables. Proactively analyzes and reviews emerging technologies, changes in the Insurance/Healthcare industry and the business functions of various clients, in order to determine if the advanced applications fit the needs of changing strategies, goals and objectives. Develops and maintains technical knowledge through training, classes, research, etc. This position is also subject to being "on call" for emergency situations requiring immediate resolution. Qualifications Required: This position requires a BA/BS in computer science with 3 to 5 years of experience in Web application development OR equivalent total experience. Candidates must have proficiency with using Java for multi-tiered web-based applications. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of HTML?based programming. This includes an understanding of HTML authoring tools to implement these functions. Candidates must have experience in systems design, testing and integration methodologies, including extensive understanding of programming logic concepts and application analysis and design techniques. Also, candidates should have experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or Microsoft SQL Server. Candidates will be required to have an understanding of the creation of stored procedures using Structured Query Language (SQL) and the use of these stored procedures from an application development prospective. Specifically, candidates must have at 3 to 5 years of experience with the following programming tools or languages, or have an equivalent aptitude in a similar tool or language: Required Technical Skills - Java and J2EE expertise minimum of 5 years - WebSphere and related J2EE application server expertise minimum of 5 years - Project experience with J2EE technologies, including servlets, JSP, JSF, JNDI, JDBC minimum of 5 years - Application design experience using UML, design patterns, J2EE patterns minimum of 5 years - Project expertise with Rational development tools RAD and RSA - Web Services expertise ? SOAP, XML-RPC, WSDL, XML/XSLT, JAXB, JAXP minimum of 3 years - Portlet development - JSR-168 and Portlet Factory development using RAD - WebSphere Portal development including, themes, skins, IPC and WSRP - Portal security, including Tivoli Access Manager and Tivoli Identity Manager - Experience in using frameworks and tools including Jakarta Struts, Hibernate, Spring, ANT, JUnit and Log4J Abilities/Skills: Candidates should have experience working with teams and show a propensity in dealing with the user community. Flexibility is essential to this position (candidates should be willing to learn new technologies, to implement new processes, and to take instruction). This position will require strong Web application development and analytical (i.e. requirements gathering, system analysis, logical/physical design) skills, as well as the ability to learn new technologies quickly based on prior experiences with similar tools and an understanding of infrastructure. Good organizational and documentation skills will be essential in ensuring developed source code can be interpreted by other members of the development team. Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical terminology to internal clients of all levels and some external vendors will be extremely helpful in moving any and all projects forward.
