Senior Software Engineer

Reports to:    Director of Architecture & Engineering



 

Summary:    This is a stable, long-term opportunity in a new, small technology group in an established company that is in-sourcing all development.  Candidate must enjoy working in a small group and be willing to maintain broad skills in addition to deep skills in a primary area.  Candidate will work in all areas of the software lifecycle and should have expertise in systems analysis, agile software development methodologies, Java (or C#) programming languages, knowledge of Windows operating systems, SQL RDBMS and system management software.  Most importantly, candidate must have (or be willing to learn) SAP Netweaver 7.0 Enterprise Portals skills.  Office is located near the University are of Charlotte.  Company will not pay for candidate relocation.

 

Responsibilities: Configure and maintain SAP Netweaver Enterprise Portals applications Provide analysis, designs and programming of new Java portlet development using appropriate software tools and methodologies available Assist/lead in the development of database schema to support portal applications Develop processes and policies to ensure data integrity, security and recoverability Provide technical support to ensure problems are resolved in an expedient manner Contribute to the full software lifecycle from architecture to integration testing Provide recommendations and identify opportunities to promote the brand Assists in the diagnosis of system failures and aids in recovery Assist in planning organizing, and coordinating HW/SW installation/maintenance Continue to increase knowledge of installed computer-based systems Keep abreast of company goals, methods, and procedures and of current developments in technology and available vendor-supplied products

Qualifications (Mandatory): Excellent ethics and integrity, judgement skills and analytical/problem solving skills Must have (or be willing to acquire) SAP Netweaver 7.0 Enterprise Portal experience Must have extensive Java or C# enterprise programming skills Experienced in configuring/maintaining complex enterprise software (e.g., J2EE) Must possess a high level of competence in systems analysis and design Must possess a working knowledge of SQL RDBMS, preferably SQL Server Must possess a working knowledge of the Windows Server operating systems Initiative; a self-starter; high energy level Ability to work in a team environment Bachelor's degree
