The primary emphasis for this individual will be on the rapid development and application of mass spectrometry-based quantitative approaches, including label-free proteomics. This will include organelle fractionation/profiling and sample preparation techniques for mass spectrometry-based protein/peptide analyses. They will be responsible for planning, executing and analyzing a variety of experiments in the qualitative and quantitative proteomics analysis. They will also be responsible for supervising and developing a junior scientist.Job ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate skills and knowledge on proteomics research projects.Plan and execute quantitative proteomics projects in support of target discovery.Actively participate in other research activities related to project assignments within proteomics, systems biology group. Follow current literature and develop new proteomics workflows for the laboratory with improved sensitivity and reproducibility. Direct a laboratory associate and train staff on various mass spectrometers as needed.Communicate/present research progress reports and results of independent experiments at section meetings, via written reports for internal communications as well as patents and complete scientific papers for peer reviewed journals.Present at seminars on a regular basis.Basic QualificationsPh.D. with a minimum of 2 years, preferably postdoctoral, experience.Extensive knowledge in quantitative proteomics and organelle fractionation/profiling experience. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in sample preparation techniques for mass spectrometry-based proteins/peptides analyses is highly desired.Experience in operating and maintaining of time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOF-MS), orbitrap and ion-trap mass spectrometers is highly desired.Familiarity with current bioinformatics software in data analysis and processing.Previous supervisory experience is preferred.Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.Good communication skills, written and verbal.Ability to function and succeed in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking.If you are not viewing this from our career web site, go to https://wyeth.recruitmax.com/main/careerportal/login.cfm, click on the ''Job Search'' tab, use Keywords: ''21315'' for a search, click on the ''Job Title'' link and then ''Apply To This Job'' at the end of the page.
