Senior Project Manager - EU

This position is the single point of accountability for large, very complex PPL Electric Utilities projects, which may range in value from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars. The position plans and manages all aspects of Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects, from development through engineering and construction to close out and turnover to operations. This position must identify and analyze project risks, develop risk mitigation plans, and execute actions should the risks occur. This position is required to integrate information from various sources into a cohesive, comprehensive and logical project plan. The Senior Project Manager must be capable of managing and influencing a wide range of subject matter experts and must be capable of leading a diverse project team in executing the project plan.Primary Responsibilities:- Fully accountable for scope, schedule, cost, and quality attainment for assigned projects.- Develop and manage the project team including the integration of various disciplines. Represent PPL Electric Utilities in a manner that meets the highest standards of professional conduct and integrity.- Manage large, complex construction projects from development through close out. Establish project controls, metrics, and key success indicators. Manage the trade-off between scope, schedule, quality, and cost.- Manage change through all phases of the project. Control expenditures, schedule and quality in executing the project within budget.- Manage communications including identifying key stakeholders and preparing timely project reports and conducting status meetings with the stakeholders.- Develop contracting strategies. Negotiate and manage project contracts. Identify contract obligations on PPL, develop dispute resolution processes and options, and assist in contract final closure. Manage the start-up and turnover phases for construction contracts.- Responsible for all financial aspects of the project including the overall project budget, timely payment of invoices for contracted work, obtaining appropriate authorizations for expenditures and financial close out activities.- Develop and mentor other project managers, document methods, and develop tools to establish sustainable project management competency in PPL EU. Qualifications:Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.Basic Qualifications:- BS degree in Business, Engineering, or Science.- Ten years in positions with significant project management and construction management responsibilities.- Project management certification by a recognized organization, such as the Project Management Institute.
