Senior Network Engineer

**This position is located in the Dallas,TX and surrounding area.**

The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks a/an Sr Engineer, Network for our ATG Network Operations Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.



Essential Job Functions:
Oversee, maintain, and upgrade the Dallas Metro Area Network to include both hardware and software on equipment such as routers, switches, modems and cabling in a 7x24 Internet Service Provider environment; Primarily responsible for the design, provisioning/deployment and operations of local and wide area network, and leading assigned projects to completion; Troubleshoots and resolves complex network problems to ensure minimal disruption; Coordinates installation of routers, switches, and other network devices and effectively communicates changes to appropriate parties; Maintain the IP maps for all residential, voice, and commercial IP addresses; Lead network staff in troubleshooting issues to resolution using an enterprise ticketing system for event management; Document standard operating procedures and adhere to company policies, guidelines, and configuration standards for all aspects of the network; Hand tools used for equipment installation.



Job Requirements:
Emphasis on Cisco routers/switches and networking; working knowledge of SONET technology, Ethernet, 100BaseT, and Gigabit Ethernet; Thorough knowledge of OSPF, RIP, and BGP routing protocols; IP network subnetting; Solid project management skills; Primary travel would be contained to the TW - Dallas Division area. Occasional travel to other Time Warner Cable Divisions may be required.



Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
