We are looking for an experienced ASP.NET (VB.NET) Web Programmer who relishes the opportunity to work on many different high impact web projects for our Internet and Intranet sites.  Our ideal candidate is someone who has personally developed projects for a mid-sized Internet company.

 

If you’re a veteran developer looking to design and develop complex projects – this is a great opportunity.  This is not an entry or junior level position – we’re looking for someone with a great skill set and real world .NET experience.

 

You would be working with our development team on our web sites including an e-commerce site, blog site, streaming site and our intranet and reporting tools using ASP.NET 2.0(VB.NET/C#) and MS SQL 2005 database. We’re looking for a superior programmer who has several years experience developing web based solutions using ASP.NET.

 

In his position you will work on a team of developers and report to the Manager of Application Development.

 

We will need to see a functional VB.NET example and source code that you have built.  This is a full time, direct hire position, so you will need to do all work onsite Monday-Friday.

 

3 Keys:Candidate must be able to program in VB.NET and ASP.NET.  We don’t want someone looking to learn .NET technology; we want someone who can program in .NET technology.Candidate must have at least 3-4 years web programming experience working in a professional web environment.Candidate must be a team player with a collaborative outlook and personality and be able to communicate frequently with non technical marketing staff.

 

Responsibilities:Overall responsibility for our high traffic public web sitesDesign and build reusable modules to be used throughout our web sitesMaintain and enhance our home grown content management systemMaximize efficiency and scalability of our Internet and Intranet through use of caching models and XML.Manage and mentor junior and contractor developers.  Assign tasks and review work.Collaborate frequently with two other senior developers on companywide issues and help solve each other’s issues.Work with other departments and management on developing creative ideas and new initiatives from cradle to grave.

 

Requirements:

· 4-5 years of professional web development experience using VB/ASP.NET 1.1 – 2.0.

· 2-3 years of fulltime professional experience developing web applications in VB.NET.

· 2 years professional experience with SQL Server 2000/2005 and Transact-SQL.1-2 years AJAX development experience.

· At least 1 year experience working in a team with other.NET developers

· Excellent communication skills – as a growing company, frequent communication with non-technical people is necessaryMinimum of 2 years hands-on development experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Solid understanding of stored procedures, triggers, database design and relational design.Good understanding of web application architecture and design.Understanding of XML/Web services.Strong understanding of object oriented programming and software design patterns.Ability to communicate technical issues and concepts clearly, both orally and in writing.Strong problem solving skills.

 

Preferred:

Experience with RAD Controls.
