Senior Human Resources Generalist - English/Spanish Bilingual

Seeking senior level HR professional with generalist and recruiting experience to support our distribution centers primarily in the West and West Coast regions.  Some travel is required; english/spanish bilingual strongly preferred.

GENERAL JOB FUNCTION

This position serves as a business partner to management, employees and external contacts in the area of human resources. It enforces practice and policy relating to all phases of human resources activity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

Enforces, communicates and responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.

Coaches managers, supervisors, and employees in dealing with employee relations issues; conducts investigations and provides guidance and suggestions on possible resolutions.

Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Ensures job descriptions are current and updated.

Supports the performance management process.

Administers and coordinates employee benefits programs; administers open enrollment and communicates changes.

Leads new employee orientation for employees to foster positive attitude toward company goals.

Assists with implementation of training initiatives related to Human Resources

  practices, policies and procedures

Creates and provides various reports from HR Management System.

Develops and implements training initiatives related to HR practices, policies and processes.

Develops and maintains effective communication throughout the organization.

Investigates accidents and prepares reports for workers compensation insurance carrier. Partners with Safety department to monitor workers' compensation claims, investigate with supervisor for root cause and coordinate between the employee, safety department and supervisor.

Monitors unemployment claims and assists third party providers with appeals.

Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.

Coordinates Company sponsored employee events aimed at improving morale and employee retention.

Reviews completed documents for accuracy; Ensures accurate records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.

Participates in the Safety Committee and plays an active role in the roll out of safety policies.

Reviews workers’ compensation claims status.

Keeps abreast of current and new legal regulations.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience

PHR/SPHR Human Resources Certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, GPHR, Human Resources Management, etc.)

EXPERIENCE

5-7 to 7 years experience in the human resources or related field

Some travel required; flexibility in work hours schedule to meet business needs
