Senior Financial Analyst R&D

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):• Liaison to Regulatory Project Management and Medical Affairs management teams supporting those teams with financial analytical and business decision support services.• Participates in up to four cross-functional product development teams providing financial analysis and decision support. Tracks and analyzes R&D investment for products therapeutic areas and development phases supporting portfolio decisions and resource assessment/modeling. • Provides financial modeling analysis and economic decision support for significant initiatives/ decisions in supported business areas including in-source vs. out-source lease vs. buy and investment prioritization.• Involved in all aspects of financial planning for the supported functions including the annual operating plan quarterly forecasts actuals reporting and variance analysis. o Works with department heads to develop realistic plans/forecasts for assigned departments.o Assists in consolidation of forecasts for submission to corporate planning group.o Analyzes departmental variances from plan/forecast and reports results to business partners and corporate finance team. o Develops run rates and other trend analyses to support forecasting and management decision making. • Ensures that the functions’ accounting and related records included in the consolidated financial statements are prepared on an accurate and timely basis in accordance with IFRS and MedImmune’s accounting policies and procedures. • Participates in and supports financial and R&D process improvement initiatives as required.• Trains business partners on use and interpretation of financial systems and data.Experience: 2-5 years of progressive finance experience OR 2-5 years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience combined with a business education. Experience in creating flexible financial models for decision support required. Experience with SAP or other ERP system and TM1 application preferred.
