Senior Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research
Job Description:CV Therapeutics seeks to hire a Senior Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research. This position will be responsible for the development of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) strategies and projects for the company's products with an objective to establish the economic and humanistic value of the products in specified therapeutic areas. Augment product life cycle strategies by providing value proposition based on robust HEOR methods. Design and execute health economic research that establishes cost effectiveness and quality of life (QOL) impact of the company s products. Support clinical and commercial objectives in all product lifecycle phases. Partner with the clinical and commercial teams in developing protocols for early phase studies. Oversee HEOR data analyses, interpret and present results to internal and external stakeholders. Generate economic models, abstracts, manuscripts and customer friendly tools to support value proposition. Present the results of HEOR studies to internal and external customers. Develop Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) dossier for formulary submission. Manage a therapeutic area HEOR budget. Responsibilities & Duties:Qualified candidates must have a Doctorate degree in Pharmacy Administration, Pharmacoeconomics, Health Economics or related field plus 3 years of experience as an HEOR Manager, Analytical Research Associate, Research Analyst or related position, including: (1) 3 years of experience conducting Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) including retrospective and economic modeling studies. (2) 1 year of experience: (a) designing and conducting Health Economics & Outcomes Research along the continuum of drug development at a pharmaceutical company; (b) designing and implementing HEOR studies in cardiovascular arena; (c) developing and validating quality of life instruments; (d) interacting with different functional areas in a pharmaceutical company including clinical development, marketing, managed markets, regulatory, legal and purchasing and contracting; (e) align HEOR plans with overall product marketing strategies to demonstrate product value; (f) interpreting/dealing with regulatory requirements governing research supporting product labeling and promotional material; (g) managing multiple HEOR projects and related contracts and budgets. (3) Presentations and publications of HEOR research projects at scientific venues and journals. (4) Ability to travel 10-15% of time. (Experience can be concurrent. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training that is equivalent to the actual minimum requirements of the position and shows demonstrable ability in the skill sets required for the position.) The Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HE&OR), is primarily responsible for the HE&OR program execution, study design, data generation, analysis, and reporting of outcomes results (comparative, QoL, economic, patient-reported) in support of new medical content product value propositions to payers (private, public, institutional), healthcare professionals, patients, & employers. Primary outputs will include research findings and their development into publications, presentations, posters or abstracts. Additionally, this person will be responsible for helping to prepare any necessary Value Dossiers as requested by payers.

Job Experience:Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA, MPH, MS, etc.) in relevant field(s) [medicine, pharmacy, sciences, epidemiology, public health or policy, economics, psychometrics, statistics, business, or other closely related discipline] required, with a strong preference for multidisciplinary training (two or more contributing disciplines). A minimum of 8 years of relevant diagnostics, devices, and/or pharmaceutical industry experience required. Technical expertise required in economic evaluations & patient reported outcomes, including data analysis and statistics.
