Senior Associate - Investment Consulting

Segal Advisors, Inc., the investment-consulting affiliate of The Segal Company and has offered independent investment consulting services since 1969. Segal Advisors is one of the largest investment consultants to retirement plan sponsors.  We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Boston Office.

The Opportunity: The Senior Associate is a consultant-in-training and considered an important member of the Segal Advisors client team. The Senior Associate will have the opportunity to work independently and on teams and to contribute own thinking to enhance the value and quality of work assignments and products on an immediate basis. We offer an opportunity that will provide increasing responsibility and exposure to our investment consulting business.

The Role: The incumbent will contact investment management firms and fund managers with regard to client inquiries, statistical profiles or portfolios and reconciliations as needed; prepares performance reports for client presentations.  The Senior Associate will assist with investment manager and custodial searches, draft investment guidelines for new fund managers, perform asset allocation studies, and provide support to the practice leader.  The position will also supervise two associates in the planning and scheduling of reports and other projects.  In addition, the Senior Associate will be required to attend client meetings when a consultant has conflicts in his/her schedule.

The Requirements: Candidates for this position should have an undergraduate degree with academic training in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Finance, Mathematics, Statistics) and a minimum of four years experience in the investment industry. Enrollment in and intent to complete Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) accreditation is required as is excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences. Proficiency in PC skills to include Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
