Job Title:  Senior Accounting Specialist

Reports To:  Manager of Accounting

 

Summary

This position will perform a wide variety of accounting duties requiring a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.  This is a great opportunity to groom for a managerial position while focusing on the operational areas of accounting.

 

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Business, with  emphasis in  Finance or Accounting.Strong academic performance. Experience in all aspects of the accounting cycle.Solid work ethic.Self motivated.Deadline-oriented.

 

Overall responsibility

This position will be working within the finance department.  The successful candidate will be expected to assume back-up responsibility for accounts receivable, accounts payable, order entry, bank reconciliations, month end closing, financial statements, and payroll. 

 

Key areas of responsibilityEnter and process payable transactions.Maintain monthly reoccurring invoicing system.Process necessary paper work for miscellaneous invoicing.Receive written or verbal orders from customers and salesmen.Process new subscribers.Process cancellations.Post payment receipts.Process semi-monthly payroll.Prepare month-end close of all systems to the general ledger and all appropriate journal entries.Work with the Accounting Manager to assist with managing the accounting department.
