Scientist I/II
Department - Vaccine Analytical SciencesWe are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual with a PhD in virology or molecular biology to join Medimmune Vaccines. The successful candidate will spearhead the effort to evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance vaccine development. With initial guidance and overview the scientist must be able to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities. The scientist must have excellent organizational skills; pay sharp attention to detail related to planning designing executing experiments and processing and analyzing data. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to present accurate scientific data and results at internal and external meetings. The position requires strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Word) are a prerequisite. Experience with commercial statistical software is highly recommended. He or she must be able to contribute in a team environment as well as take ownership of multiple project responsibilities. Education: PH.D. Experience: 1-3 years of industry experiences Special Skills/Abilities: virology molecular biology Job Complexity: Medium The candidate must be able to design execute development studies and possess strong written oral presentation skills with an ability to work in rapidly changing environment and balance multiple priorities concurrentlySupervision: (supervision required level of independence)The candidate after initial training and support must be able to function independently. Experience in supervising and managing activities of Research Associates (RAs) and Associate Scientist (AS) is a plus.
