SQL Server Database Developer (Job #1155)

Job Description:PLANIT Technology Group, an IT-solutions company, offering services, staffing, infrastructure, and solutions to clients across the United States for over 18 years, is searching for a full-time, contract-to-hire, SQL Server Database Developer.Responsibilities:1. Independently maintains and enhances complex programs by performing the full range of programming, testing, debugging, and modifying of affected reports, data, files, etc. Independently analyzes and designs new systems after consultation with users and technical staff.2. Researches and develops program specifications needed for a system.3. Responsible for system testing of programs and approving results. Prepares the necessary program documentation formats.4. Prepares test data including the creation of test files. 5. Periodically reviews status of assigned tasks and provides supervisor with a written status report regarding progress in relation to deadlines, costs, and schedules.6. Coordinates assigned tasks with other project team members. Gives assistance, when applicable, to programmers on problems such as software, problem logic, and debugging techniques.7. Trains and directs work of junior-level programmers.8. Adheres to corporate information security guidelines and promotes information security and the protection of automated corporate assets among co-workers by encouraging them to practice safe computing and follow information security guidelines.Required Skills:Experienced SQL Server 2005 developmentVery strong experience developing financial systemsExcellent team playerExcellent comunication skillsBackground in Data Warehousing a plus but not a firm requirement (we can teach this if they strong SQL Server development and financial systems experience).Experience with Access VB a plusExperience working with Cognos reporting a plus Under general direction, analyzes and evaluates user requirements characterized by the most complex programming and analytical requirements.
