SQL Database Developer - e-Commerce

POSITION OBJECTIVE: We have an opening for a Database Developer position in our eCommerce development group. We need a candidate who can help us build database systems that are high-quality, scalable, and high-performance to meet the demands of our rapidly growing E-commerce ATG websites and back-end content management and reporting systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assessing business rules 2. Performing logical and physical data modeling 3. Implementing physical database objects, managing data, building/extending toolsets 4. Provide senior level analytical and problem solving skills when addressing and resolving issues, assessing possible systems impacts and recommending technical solutions 5. This position will additionally develop optimized stored procedures to solve complex problems; tune databases for peak performance; implement databases in a Microsoft SQL Server environments; work with other disciplines (Program Management, Test Team, Technical Operations, other Software Development Engineers, and various business owners) in implementation of analytical and technical solutions; review project plans, development and test specifications; communicating implementation limitations; and data-driven solutions with all levels of project team and management. Qualifications must include thorough experience with Microsoft SQL Server or a related mission-critical relational database product. The ideal candidate would have the following: - Excellent problem solving and planning skills - A strong drive to learn new internet technologies and continual improve results - A passion for building great software - Composure and the ability to react quickly during crisis - Ability to work with third parties to transfer data using various formats and/or protocols, such as web services QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL Server 2005, Integration Services, Reporting Services 2. Experience working with high-volume websites, preferably e-commerce related and/or a multi-channel/multi-brand environment 3. Strong database scripting and programming skills in developing stored procedures, triggers, automation, etc. 4. 4+ years SQL Server development, database modeling, stored procedures, jobs, complex queries and modifications. 5. Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills 6. Familiarity with the SDLC processes a plus. 7. Must possess a strong attention to detail; superior follow-up skills and be results oriented. 8. CRM/ATG experience preferred but not required 9. BS or BA required.
