Our client in Parsippany, NJ has a contract to hire opportunity for a SQL DBA/Developer.We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator/Developer to design, develop and support multiple databases and web based applications.  The candidate must have a verifiable track record of hands-on development and support using proven SQL and ASP.NET standards.  This will be demonstrated through the ability to proactively evaluate and update physical and logical designs in response to dynamic business needs.  The candidate will interact with the business users to collect requirements, present technical solutions, and follow the organization’s SDLC.  Many of the supported applications are third party software vendor applications, which will require solid communication and negotiation skills. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Experience in managing vendor applications; working with a variety of software vendors to acquire technical specifications, system specs, and installation requirements.  Solid follow-up skills to ensure vendor responsiveness. Proven experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment including the use of Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, Profiler, and other tools as needed in a MS SQL Server suite; Data Transformation and Analysis in both normalized and de-normalized data environments from a wide variety of data sources; Experience with SSIS, SSRS & SSAS, ETL Tools and Data Warehousing for use in SQL Project Development. Experience with the development and support of web enabled database applications using ASP.NET; Data Modeling:  Experience with collecting requirements from business users and transforming them into logical and physical design using database design tools; Experience with administration of multi-database environments including SQL Clustering and SAN/EMC storage solutions, blade technology, and VMWare; Highly organized individual, capable of handling multiple competing priorities and comfortable working with a team of engineers, systems administrators, and developers, as well as working independently on small to medium projects; Experience in managing small to medium IT projects; Solid analytical and problem solving skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as required. Â·  Manage the installation, upgrades, and support of vendor applications;·  Lead the design, implementation, documentation and maintenance of development, test and production database environments.  Develop databases to support web and/or client-server based applications;·  Build complex stored procedures and ASP.NET applications.  Develop data extracts from an existing SQL 2005 data warehouse;·  Participate in the identification, project planning, analysis, design, development and implementation of assigned project(s).  Provide both written and verbal communication on project progress, issues, and risks to the Project Manager;·  Manage small to medium projects.·  Provide daily direction and guidance on the development, maintenance, and support standards of the database administration team.  ·  Performance Tuning & Optimization:  Regularly evaluate and monitor databases and stored procedures to identify and resolve performance issues;·  Database Administration:  Install upgrade and patches to existing databases and assist with Backup and Recovery plans.  Also assist Engineering team with creation and maintenance of a secure database environment through use of groups and roles;·  Identify improvement opportunities to management and the team·  Develop, improve, and deploy IT processes and procedures, e.g. change management, problem management. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a information technology focus; 5+ years of proven Database Administration experience using MS SQL; 1+ year of proven Database Administration experience using MS SQL 2005; 4+ years of MS SQL development experience; 2+ years of ASP.NET development experience; 1-2 years managing/leading IT projects.About Harvey Nash· Global recruitment and talent solutions company· Placing thousands of skilled business professionals every year· Operations in the United States, Europe and Asia· Headquartered in the UK and traded on the London Stock Exchange· Over 25 office locations worldwide· Dedicated to providing talented professionals with top career opportunities Qualified  candidates should submit a word formatted resume to cheryl.blumenberg@harveynashusa.com . Apply now if your skills and experience are a good match for the position and remember this: At Harvey Nash, the door to opportunity is always wide open.    Company: Harvey Nash Location: Parsippany, NJ 07054 Status: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: IT/Software Development Company: Harvey Nash
