SENIOR TRANSIT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (ADA)

The Metropolitan Transit System, premier provider of public transportation in San Diego through its operating entities MTS Bus and MTS Rail is accepting resumes for the position of Senior Transit Operations Specialist (ADA) until filled. 

Under general supervision, the incumbent is assigned projects requiring detailed understanding of the planning and operating characteristics of transit systems and will work as a member of interdisciplinary groups. 

Other essential duties include, but are not limited to, managing transit service and consultant contracts; preparing RFPs and RFBs for transit services; evaluate transit service bids; preparing budgets and provide budgetary oversight of transit service contracts; creating and modifying operating parameters of public transit services; prepare Board agenda items; making oral presentations on detailed transit projects to the public, governmental officials and staff; provide supervision and technical guidance for subordinate professional staff; perform other tasks as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a college degree in planning, geography or civil engineering or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation planning, operations, or engineering experience.  A combination of education, training, and/or experience which clearly demonstrates possession of the knowledge and skills required may be considered.  Advance skill in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
