Job Description:Job SummaryEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSecurity Operations responsiblities include timely settlements of all domestic and global trades, via the electronic in house platform of Securities Operations System ( SOS ). Manual settlements are required for trades that need special handling. Responsible for effective decision making to assure financial settlements of all trades both electronic and manual. Correspondence with outside brokers and managers to validate trade input. Proper execution of corporate actions, foreign exchange, bank debt investments and various derivative transactions. Working knowledge of TBA trades and the trade settlement process. Maintaining and contolling the physical items in the vault, maintaining and controlling all statutory deposits for CNA.This position is responsible for the coordination of settling all trades for CNA’s $40 billion portfolio for all asset types including derivatives. Settlement transactions are both global and domestic currencies. Trades include internal and external manager transactions and their requests for trades that include special handling. Additionally the position is on point for trading platforms, state deposits, bank account requirements, and supporting data for Separate Acct B filings (a SEC registered fund) and reports. Other responsibilities include the supervision of staff, knowledge of CNA officer loan program, Bloomberg and Bloomberg trading systems, audit confirmation, SOX, state examiners requests, and on going projects relating to Investments and Investment systems. Responsibilities which includes: asset transfers, separate account filings, proxy execution, capital contributions, special handling of trades on unique instruments and compliance for trade execution .Efficiently and effectively manage operation staff working under time pressures.Key decision making skills to effectively identify, analyze and resolve investment business problems in a timely manner. Back up support for trade entry and at times needed for executing trades.Knowledge and support of Bloomberg trading platform, custodial bank reporting systems, and bank trade entry platforms.May perform additional duties as assigned. Highest level knowledge of investment principles, practices and procedures and industry issues as they relate to the organization especially in the areas of trade settlement, corporate actions, foreign exchange transactions, and statutory deposits.2. Ability to effectively lead, coach and develop the securities group.3. Ability to achieve results by taking a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives.4. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.5. Excellent organizational skills.6. Ability to exercise professional judgement and assume responsibility for decisions which have an impact on financial results and quality of service.Education & Experience1.Strongcomputer experience including: Bloomberg, Mircosoft Office, Excel, Access and Word2. Bachelors degree in finance or equivalent.3. Minimum seven to nine years of related work experience.Job Experience:Settlement operations (all asset classes)including derivatives.
