SCIENTIST - Mathematical Computer Modeler

Currently, we are seeking a Scientist/ Mathematical Computer Modeler for our Neenah WI location. You will develop mathematical models for mechanical properties of non-linear, anisotropic materials and products through computer modeling, and lead projects of moderate size and complexity. You will provide technical information for other project areas as well as effectively plan and complete project responsibilities on time. Ensure communication of project plans and results to customers and other team members. Provide technical assistance to less experienced team members. Our ideal candidate will have; a. MS/PhD in mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science b. Postdoctoral or other industrial experience helpful but not required c. Demonstrated productivity (by publications/patents) in FEA area. Experience in using FEA commercial packages, preferably Abaqus/Explicit, to build 3D models with non-linear, elastic-plastic, anisotropic material models. d. Proficiency with ABAQUS and SolidWorks is essential; Proficiency with python scripting, VB, Java and UNIX shell scripts is desirable. e. Strong background in both experimental and theoretical micro- and macro-mechanics, especially in the area of thin flexible nonwoven composite materials. f. Broad knowledge in visco-elastic behavior of polymer composites, polymer rheology, and transport phenomena; experience in their industrial applications preferred. g. Additional skills: Must work with diverse modeling group and apply new modeling methodology to solve problems in fluid absorption into materials and material property modeling h. Effective communication skills to communicate with people at all levels of the organization. i. Must have strong leadership qualities to interact with, and lead functional teams to deliver projects in a timely manner. Positive personality who can work with external service providers.
