Rubber Shop Belt Splice Technician
Applied Industrial Technologies, with more than 440 facilities and over 4,400 employee associates across North America, is seeking a motivated, Splice Technician for its Ft. Worth, TX location.
Applied Industrial Technologies offers more than 2 million parts critical to the operations of customers in virtually every industry including food and beverage, petroleum, automotive, pulp & paper, mining, aggregate, and maintenance and repair. In addition, Applied provides engineering, design and systems integration for industrial and fluid power applications, as well as customized mechanical, fabricated rubber and fluid power shop services.
As a Belt Splice Technician you will perform a variety of duties to customize belts and rubber components to customer specifications. Duties include:
· Perform various fabrication procedures without supervision such as, cutting belts to size, lacing belts, punching belts and gaskets, cutting material with shears, preparing and vulcanizing belts using various splice styles, preparing belts to take profiles, bonding of profiles, boots and sheet rubbers, cutting hose and performing hose assemblies, and perform field installations.
· Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock areas; prepare sales orders; pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
· Perform duties to fabricate, install and repair conveyor belting, systems and other rubber products.
· Complete inventory cut slips and adjust marked dimensions. Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies; maintain stock areas; prepare sales orders; pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies.
· Work in a manner that insures the safety of everyone involved. Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment.
· Detect and report equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
Splice Technician Requirements
Looking for experienced Splice Technician but willing to train right candidate. High school diploma or equivalent plus basic math aptitude and the ability to apply mechanical principles to address customer needs is required. Position requires occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds. Overtime hours and weekend work may be required
