Rights & Permissions Assistant
Under the daily supervision of the Contract Administrator – Entertainment Rights and Permissions Department, this position will track each Playboy produced, Spice and acquired title through the entire approval process, including verification of deliverables, scanning, filing, and data entry into IBMS and the LA Rights Database. This position will network with the 2257 Compliance, Legal and Production Departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for verifying cast lists, talent releases and other related agreements for movies, television episodes, home videos and video clips assuring that they meet all PEGI requirements.
2. Identify contract issues that need clarification or amendment and route such issues to the Contract Administrator or Manager of Rights and Permissions.
3. Assure that any missing information is obtained and that all errors in releases and other agreements have been corrected.
4. Scan contracts, talent releases and related agreements for Playboy produced, Spice and acquired content and index to corresponding data in the LA Rights Database and Smead.
5. Interface with 2257 Compliance, Legal and Production Departments to assure that all components are in place to facilitate title clearance.
6. Learn to use MARIS (IBMS, LA Rights Database, 2257 Database, MARS, and Smead).
7. Record rights information for new content into IBMS and record talent release information into the LA Rights Database.
8. Create and maintain files.
9. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A. or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of entertainment industry experience in administration in business or legal affairs, distribution, or production required.
Position requires strong organizational skills and tact in dealing with personnel at different corporate levels. Candidate must be able to take initiative and work independently against deadlines on multiple projects. Candidate must be familiar with computers and have a solid knowledge of word processing and Excel. Familiarity with Outlook is a plus.
